ABOUT MY SERVICES - Jenny Campbell

I am a theatre stage manager and prop buyer / supervisor with over 25 years' experience of buying all the props and furniture needed for stage shows.

I've now set up this website to sell props I hold in stock, or I will consider hiring them out for productions - but not everything is suitable for hiring.

I'm also offering a full prop-buying service for shows, or you can buy my time (by the hour or day/half day) as a consultant for specific items. I can also quote for making up curtains and soft furnishings for stage use - not for your house! I can make up paper props if you need them - e.g. period-looking letters and documents, fake book covers, etc.

Please use the contact form to enquire about specific projects.

ABOUT ME

I've worked on plays, musicals, opera, dance, and site-specific shows, ranging from very classic Shakespeare to shows set in the future. A lot of my work has been for repertory theatres e.g Birmingham Rep; Clwyd Theatr Cymru, Mold; The Library, Manchester; and the Rose, Kingston. I have also worked for many production companies including dreamthinkspeak, Theatre-Rites, Zap Arts, Opera Holland Park and Grange Park Opera; and as a freelance prop supervisor for the Theatre Royal Bath, the Menier Chocolate Factory, and Adam Spiegel Productions. (If you're really interested my full CV can be found on Stage Jobs Pro (now Mandy Theatre Professionals) and also the BECTU website.)

I've bought hand props, set dressing, furniture, and made soft furnishings, paper props, and even cooked food props for shows set in the 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, as well as truly contemporary productions. Having worked with many designers and to many different kinds of briefs and budgets, I am used to lots of different approaches to prop buying.  I am also experienced in making curtains and cushions, tablecloths and bedlinen for shows and can upholster simple things like chair seats.

This is a rather fabulous objet I bought as set dressing for an early 1960s set show

This is an 'objet' I bought for a show set in the early '60s... not sure why I like it so much!
